Quality Oncology Practice Initiative
We believe that all of our patients deserve the highest quality care. To ensure that our care practices are the best they can be, Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology maintains accreditation by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, a part of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
The QOPI® Certification Program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet the highest standards for quality cancer care. FVHO was one of the first practices in the United States to receive this national certification for meeting these standards, and we have maintained and grown our quality of care to keep our accreditation ever since.
Accreditation evaluators look at many of the same criteria that patients do when they decide on a cancer care provider:
- treatment planning
- staff training and education
- chemotherapy orders and drug preparation
- patient consent and education
- safe chemotherapy administration
- monitoring and assessment of patient well-being
We are glad to have our practices evaluated every three years, but even without the program our goal would be the same: to offer the high-quality care that you need and deserve.
